    Our client, a North Dallas visual media design firm, is seeking a TOP LEVEL, in-house 3D *Generalist* /
    Animator - Artist for immediate hire.

    Responsibilities:

     Work in collaboration with other in-house artists & management team to ensure delivery of cutting
    edge animations to clients.

     Create 3D content for animations

     3D Modeling/Texturing.

     Fluid Simulation.

     Compositing for use in static illustrations

     Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

     10 years minimum professional work experience in animation production.

     Extensive training and hands-on experience with all aspects of animation process, including 3D
    Modeling, UV/Projection Mapping, Lighting/Shaders and, most importantly, animation.

     Must possess strong expertise in any of the following - 3D Max (preferred), After Effects, Nuke,
    Mental Ray or VRay, Photoshop, Etc. and experienced with setting up renders and operation of a
    render farm.

     Must be able to model and animate with high level of detail in the following: water, fire,
    environments, smoke, mechanical, architecture, scenery.

     Must have knowledge of dynamic solvers and fracturing methods.

     Very knowledgeable with video codecs and compression for output via web and DVD/CD.

     Experience with render farm operation and maintenance required.

     Must know low poly and high poly modeling methods and when to use each.

     Strong communication skills and ability to work well independently and with others.

     Detail-oriented and ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within set project
    deadlines.

     Must be extremely organized and reliable.

    Looking for Artists (etc) to join our potential start-up games studio.

    If you have some spare time to contribute graphics etc towards the development of a game demo (vertical slice) then we could do with your help. Since a month ago there are now six of us all working towards our first game vertical slice for our second phase investment pitch.

    I have around 20years games development experience and the studio aims to make many small games over several years, alongside some bigger titles too. The current project is a fun turf war game, incorporating many hilarious mini-games to do battle in.

    At this stage we can only offer royalties until investment kicks in but a great opportunity to get in at the beginning of something new and a Studio with great potential.

    Based in Surrey but our team is working from elsewhere, such as Spain and Shanghai so as long as you can use Skype (voice) then you can join us from anywhere in the world. No experience necessary but competent in 3ds and Photoshop as a minimum. You can also gain some valuable games development experience by joining us.


    Required:
    3DS MAX - Modeling, Maping, Texturing, Bones & Animation skills.
    Photoshop skills.
    Skype account for our weekly (voice) meetings and development discussions.

    Preferable:
    Unity usage will be a big bonus to us.
    Flexible to work in any artistic style.
    Avid app/games player.
    Willingness to learn and join in with other tasks.
    Interested in contributing towards the game design.
    Mobile games experience or worked on oldskool consoles.
    Concept art/sketching would be great.

    The main focus of the position will be to set up and run hair, fur and cloth simulations for use in stylized feature animated films. Responsibilities will include research and development of cloth set ups and creating believable cloth simulations for both moving characters and inanimate objects within assigned shot work. You will also be required to create general show related effects.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The main focus of the position will be to build the foundation of a shot, pulling together the various objects to compose the CG scene while executing the staging, blocking, camera work and stereoscopic camera setup that make up the foundation of a successful shot or sequence of shots throughout the film.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:
    • Strong Maya knowledge with good problem solving skills and a solid understanding of a stereoscopic feature animation pipeline
    • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues in order to maintain continuity within the sequence
    • Previous experience of scene layout to match previs or storyboard reference is preferred
    • Technical problem solving is key to the role so basic Mel and Python scripting is ideal but not required
    • A strong knowledge of the principles of cinematic staging, blocking and camera work.
    • A working knowledge of stereoscopic cameras and shot-to-shot depth continuity
    • Previous experience in animation blocking is advantageous
    • Ability to work independently as well as a strong communicator and a good team player

    Keeping our pipeline efficient and up to date with new production challenges plays a key role in allowing our artists to be creative and deliver stunning imagery.
    As a senior pipeline developer, you will be working with a great development team in designing and implementing our production toolset. You will also be liaising directly with artists, supervisors and producers to identify and address improvements to our workflow.

    * Manage and maintain the libraries and APIs to our core pipeline tools
    * Profile and analyse the performance of our infrastructure in order to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement
    * Maintain software repositories and deployment systems

    Skills

    * Advanced programming knowledge using Python and C/C++

Type of work would include recreating existing real world objects with very high accuracy for use in the nGrain software.
    I know it is not games related, but it is an easy transition from game art to technical modeling if you are proficient in hard surface high res modeling.
