Our Vancouver location is currently seeking an On-Set VFX Supervisor for episodic projects. Responsibilities & Qualifications: • Prep o Read new scripts and prepare prelim VFX overview / breakdown and possible methodologies - for discussion o Prepare any reference material for meetings. o Assist Director in shot design, storyboarding, VFX sequence methodology. o Manage information, and communication between production and VFX for successful shot execution. o Create the VFX master breakdown sheet to aid various depts. in coordinating their role in the VFX shots. o Attend all necessary prep meetings - Specifically pre concept, concept, VFX, art dept., SPFX & stunts, Props and prod. o Coordinate with Art Department for virtual set needs -set layout and dimensioning information. o Check wardrobe, Set Dec and props as needed for green / blue screen and other possible keying issues. o Provide input and VFX consultation as needed on development of other departments work. I.e. stunt work and rigging. o Camera equipment and testing, lighting and grip set up, props and spfx rigging - all interactive VFX components. o Provide tech scout guidance to survey team to help maximize shot success. o Prep any special VFX materials - eye line reference, foam core framing and size refs, special markers & targets. o Coordinate VFX Studios’ special needs and requirements with appropriate depts. o Ensure all needed reference material, footage, art is prepped for onset guidance prior to shooting. o Confirm shots and prep footage for video playback if needed. o Coordinate any special Virtual set / VR set requirements with all departments. o Manage green stage accessories and maintenance. o Take necessary notes and photos of props, sets, locations etc. as needed. • Shoot o Confirm with any involved Dept. that VFX requirements will be addressed. Plan for plan "B" o Consult and strategically guide VFX shot set up. Provide any needed camera set up data. o Provide camera and continuity with V slate requirements when needed. o Record on set camera data and additional data and measurements when required. o Take on set reference, texture, matte painting pics and HDRI photos as needed. o Track and submit the VFX shots and time for the onset reports as per production requirements. o Work with Director, Camera Dept. and DP to ensure proper framing and movement for VFX action and elements. o Track VFX shot counts and budget items during production. Communicate with any major deviation from the budget. o Make critical on set decisions to maximize shot success and/or plan for issues. o Provide for eye line targets and stand in reference placement. o Consult with studio for additional on-set VFX assistant scheduling. o Supervise / Direct additional B cam, splinter and element shoots as required. o Provide VFX stills unit capability. Elements for sprites, matte paintings, set extensions etc. o Manage day to day developments and interdepartmental communications during production. o Ensure for adequate coverage, plates and other beneficial elements o Manage the video playback needs as required. o Provide end of day reports. The main responsibility will be assisting users with various production issues. We host your content for free but take a royalty fee when a piece of content is sold. Percentage is based on an agreement with the contributing author but will always favour the author in terms of majority cut. This is an invitation to 3D authors to create and list good quality content for free on our website, providing an earning opportunity whilst you sleep! Popular products are science (physics, biology, chemistry) and engineering topics. The maximum length of the clip should be no more than 30 minutes. Ideally you can send this as an QuickTime H264 file format to the address below or by uploading the file to the link below: https://www.mailbigfile.com/3dhub Web site hosting On receiving the asset we produce a 2D watermarked preview of the content which is embedded in the site via our YouTube channel. This allows us to maximise our exposure of your content through social media and also allow the 3D-Hub member to make an informed purchasing decision. Along with your asset we require a short description (no longer than 280 words including spaces) as well as a list meta tags words to use in the site search engine (these can be as many as you see fit in one string separated by commas). Security The actual 3D version of the video is then re-encoded to work with our player into our proprietary FZD file format. This format can only be opened and viewed on a licensed 3D-Player installation. The asset can be played on any licensed player within the educational establishment and is not licensed to a specific player. Credits and Payment The website uses a credit based system as a form of currency. The credits are either purchased directly from the site at £1.00 (Sterling) +VAT per credit or from third party distributors. The third party distributors do not pay the face value, receiving discounts ranging from 20-50 percent. Once you have agreed the percentage revenue split with 3D-Hub your revenue will be based on the actual financial value the credits were purchased for. Lectureship in Film and TV Post Production

This is a full-time academic post in Film and Television Post Production in a rapidly expanding, innovative department in a top university housed in a new £30m building providing state-of-the-art commercial production facilities. We are looking for someone who can teach as well as contribute to commercial work and/or formal research in the area of post production, particularly picture editing (offline and online) , colour grading and/or finishing. We are not seeking sound specialists. The department is unique in that it engages in both academic and commercial work. Recent commercial credits include the feature film The Knife That Killed Me for Universal Pictures UK, The Syndicate (series 1 and 2) for the BBC and Slavery in the 21st Century for Al Jazeera. Post facilities include three Flame Premium suites, one Nucoda Film Master suite, one dedicated Avid offline suite, a Qube-based render farm supporting Nuke and Maya, two post postproduction labs featuring Adobe Creative Suite 6 and Final Cut Pro Studio 3 as well as two dubbing theatres, two mixing rooms with a large live room for recording, and a Foley and ADR area for audio. In terms of teaching, the department offers Creative Skillset accredited courses including a BSc in Film and Television Production, an MA in Digital Film and Television Production, an MA/MSc in Postproduction with Visual Effects and an MA/MSc in Postproduction with Sound Design, as well as programmes in theatre and interactive media. Applicants should have experience of teaching film and television production at HE level, as well as a strong record as a practitioner and/or an academic. The post is available on a research and teaching contract or on a teaching-only basis, depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. We are a manufacturer of food serving equipment for universities, the military, government installations, shipboard facilities, etc. Currently our buffet line equipment resides as blocks in AutoCAD. We need someone to clean up these blocks so they are rendered as realistically as possible for sales quotes. This person will also be charged with creating renderings for individual sales quotes on an ongoing basis in an effort to increase sales. Due to the number of models and possible combinations these blocks need to be updated in a batch process and renderings created as autonomously as possible. Therefore the ideal candidate must be proficient in creating batch processes for rendering. This includes the capability to develop or utilize existing software to program the rendering software and AutoCAD to render full layouts. Lighting TD - Contract NSC Creative requires a highly skilled Lighting Technical Director to work on current projects. We are especially looking for someone who has experience with photo-realistic architectural scenes and green screen CG integration. Requirements At least 3 years experience as a Lighting TD Excellent understanding of lighting and color is essential Ability to interpret Concept Art and translate this into high-end photo real CG shots Excellent 3D skills in 3dsmax Knowledge of VUE preferable Knowledge of Vray preferable Ability to optimize lighting setups and techniques to ensure efficient render times Ability to setup multiple render passes for high-end compositing workflow Knowledge of 3D production pipelines and ability to follow naming conventions is essential 3 month contract (dependant on start date) with potential for future work. Required to work on-site, Leicester, UK. Salary is dependent on experience. We need someone with a passion for creating original and awesome CG.
